Stay in sync.
SSL / TLS Certificates
Cover story

Taking
shape.

Synctinel is a new home for SSL/TLS certificates, built by the team at Gridtek. This is the first look at what we’re making, and the promise behind it.

Identity

The mark, drawn plainly.

Every certificate makes a quiet promise: the site you’re on is the site you meant to reach, and what you send stays between the two of you. Our mark tries to say the same thing as plainly as it can be drawn — a shield, and a check inside it.

The name does the rest. A sentinel keeps watch; sync is what keeps things working together. Put them together and you have the job a certificate does every time a page loads.

Blue for the lock people already look for in the address bar. Deep navy for the background it stands guard against. White for the check, because the answer should be obvious.
